Vintage Celluloid Fruit Basket Tape Measure, 1 ½ inch diameter, unmarked, probably Germany, probably early 1900’s, cloth tape is short and begins at 10 inch marking, spring needs a little help to completely retract the tape, nice coloring on the fruit and the basket, there is a manufacturing defect on the edge of the basket where the tape measure was originally sealed after the spring mechanism was inserted, there is a small round piece of celluloid that is above the line of the joining of the top and bottom of the basket, very nice collectible, hint on retracting the end of the tape-hold the top in your hand and gently tap the bottom until the metal end reaches the slot in the basket.
